Universal Batch Cooker / Mixer
The Universal Batch Cooker / Mixer, Model UBC1, is steam
jacketed for working pressures of 7-8 atmospheres (100-120
psi) and is pressure tested to 12 atmospheres (180 psi).
The process of cooking and vacuuming is done separately.
Once the product has been cooked in the upper copper jacketed
mixing pan it is then discharged by means of a handwheel-operated
centre valve to the lower copper vacuum pan. At the same time
as the vacuum operation is taking place, the upper cooker
/ mixer section can be prepared for the next batch. Discharge
from the vacuum pan is by swing-out handle and then by tipping.
A light is provided in the vacuum chamber to facilitate observation
of the batch through inspection window.
The mixing arms are made of stainless steel and drive is
by a two-speed motor.
The thermometer bulb is built in and projects into the mixture
mass the whole time. this ensures precise temperature readings.
The machine is supplied with thermometer, vacuum gauge, pressure
gauge, safety valve and vacuum pump.
